Our Staff

Ivan Linero, Executive Director

Mr. Linero comes to HCSNV from the Hispanic Committee of Virginia, where he gained extensive financial literacy and credit counseling experience as a homeownership education and housing counselor. He brings to HCSNV a broad range of experience in nonprofit programs and fundraising, as well as executive and leadership capacities.

His organizational guidance ensures that HCSNV’s programs become an even stronger community resource, supporting clients who seek financial counseling, housing solutions, and a sustainable quality of life for their families.

A native of Bogota, Colombia, Mr. Linero’s bilingual capabilities allow him to assist HCSNV’s Spanish-speaking clients in need of housing guidance. He earned his M.B.A. from West Texas A&M University, and is a Certified Homebuyer Education Professional and Freddie Mac CreditSmart program certified educator.

Gloria Figueras, Housing Counselor/Case Manager

Ms. Figueras began her work with HCSNV as a foreclosure prevention counselor. Currently, she provides housing counseling  for HCSNV’s clients facing homelessness. She works with clients to identify the nature of the crisis, and determine the appropriate steps toward resolution.

Additionally, she receives referrals from and reports case outcomes to Fairfax County’s Office of Coordinated Services Planning. She helps clients locate affordable housing, arrange for partial rent, mortgage or utility payments, and refers them to other community and social services.

Previously, Ms. Figueras was a paralegal assisting clients with bankruptcy, foreclosure, and personal finance/budgeting issues. She attended Northern Virginia Community College and received her Comprehensive Housing Counselor Certification through the Virginia Association of Housing Counselors.

Vivian Boakye, Case Manager/Housing Counselor

Vivian Boakye  learned about the County’s housing crisis as a Community Liaison for Fairfax County Public Schools. For more than 13 years, she provided community and school resources to families who were new to the County.
